problem with remington 870
« on: January 25, 2006, 02:55:17 PM »
I have a remignton 870 in 20ga. and 12ga.
When I first got the slug barrel for the 20 ga. I could shoot great groups with great confidence(open sights) but then the accuracy went BAD... I cant hit diddley squat with it.
And the same thing happened with the 12ga. but I just never could shoot good with it, but when I put a scope on it I could shoot 2 inch groups an 75yards offhand..

PLEASE HELP...

smooth barrel, winchester superX rifled slugs

When the 20ga could shoot good, I tried brenekies also and they shot the same

I'm not trying to insult you. Have someone watch you, you may have developed a flinch and not realized it. If so have that same friend load or not load  the shotgun with out you see them do it. Then settle in to shot, that will tell you if you have a flinch. The same will also help you cure it.
