Winchester model 94 trapper vs model 94 ranger

I'm looking for a short barrel .30-30 and these seem to fit the bill, but I just wanted to know the differences of you fellas who have them.  I know the ranger is a lot less expensive, but is it "cheaper?"  I've heard good things about the trapper, any suggestions?

biggest difference is the stocks rangers are birch trappers are walnut.
