225 Win Ackley Improved dies?
« on: February 04, 2006, 06:29:34 AM »
Help please?

I have a NEF/H&R Handi 22" .22 Hornet(1-in-12" twist) that I rechambered in .225 Win that shoots the 35-52gr slugs in sub MOA groups.

I'm about to order another barrel or buy a 2006 model in .223 with the 1-in-9" twist to help out with heavier slugs.  But I fully plan to ream the chamber out to .225 Win or .225 Win AI.

I can get a .225 Win AI reamer with no problems..  Dies on the other hand are impossible to find.

Does anyone here know where to get a set or have a set made?  I know they will be rather expensive, my .225 Win dies weren't cheap either.

I know the .220 Swift and 22-250 out perform the .225 and the .225AI-but to have something a little different from everyone else tends to be worth it to me.

Thank you for any links, tips, or info you can provide.

Thanks Quick!

Looks like all my bases are covered now.

I can get my reamer from Clymer for the .225 Win AI.  This project looks like a "go" once I get ahold of a 1:9" .223.

I'll be sure to post a Range Report in the NEF section once I finish.
