has anyone ever sent a used barrel to nef to be fitted to there recv'r. just thought i would ask before i bought a used barrel.

No they will not only bearrels they sell from the factory. Go to there web site I think it spells it out or call them.

In case you're interested in DIY fitting, there are fitting instructions in the FAQ in the Centerfire forum. That said, a lot of used barrels will fit just fine with no changes needed. You do need a rimfire frame for any of the rimfire barrels, the firing pin location is different than on the shotgun/centerfire frames.

You need a RF frame unless you get one of the rimfire barrels from the 410/22 combo rifles which has an offset bore for the 22 barrel. Larry

TROTTERLG; I HAVE HAD CF HANDIS FOR YEARS MY FIRST WAS 223 HEAVY BBL. SECOND I BOUGHT IN 02 243. I TOOK OVER 200 GROUND HOG WITH THE 223 AND 4 DEER WITH THE 243. I GOT # 3 TWO WEEKS AGO A SPORTER 17HMR WITH A TASCO 6-24X42 . I HAVE BEEN SHOOTING AND CLEANING IT, PUT 40 SOME ROUNDS DOWN THE PIPE SO FAR WITH DIME SIZE GROUPS AT 50YDS. STILL WORKING ON 100 YRDS. LOVE ALL 3 OF THEM AND THIS FORUM.
