Colorado elk preference points.

Looking to utilize 5-6 points this year or next.  Want to know where the top 5 areas that have a good amount of public lands and offers trophy elk opportunities with reasonable success rates.  Anybody know of an area that meats these goals and that has had good luck?

Jim,

Invest in a phone call to the Colorado D.O.W.  They can be very helpful with this sort of information, and by now, they have all of their data compiled from the previous year to base those recommendations on.

I am looking for the personal touch on this one.  I fully intend on getting the basics from D.O.W.   :roll: Without someone feeling like they are adding to the hunting pressure in a favorite area I'm looking for some personal experiences to help make that decision.
