moose tines

Are ya' warm up there?
I hope you're inside anyway.
Any of you fine Alaskans know where I might get a handful of moose tines?
I just need a dozen or so about 10-12 inches long.
There's got to be someone here who knows of a pile of moose antlers layin' around!
I haven't been able to find any here in Illinois, so I thought I'd check with you folks.
They'd be for knife handles.
Thanks for any help you may give me.

There's plenty of room for all of God's creatures -
right next to the mashed potatoes.

Sheds

Most people that find sheds use them as improvements to the Alaskan decor in their homes.  It is expected that when visitors from the lower 48 come up, that we look like we are rough Alaskans.  A moose shed or better yet a set of antlers really works well.  Old snowshoes work well too. They are also used as artwork as people carve them and make artifacts unique to our state.

If you check EBay, you will find quite a few for sale from tine to tine.  Sorry, could not resist the play on words. :-D

There is a shop here in anchorage that sells them, I've gotten a few of them for knife handles.  Carabou also works fairly decent if your making hidden tang knifes.
