The adequacy of the Bee depends a bit on the range and the bullet. It's a little small, but inside 200 yds on a small dog should be OK. More often considered a crow and woodchuck round. .222 and .223 would be superior all around. The .44 Mag will certainly do the job, although your shots might be limited to maybe 150 yds (depending on your gun and your shooting ability). If you're hoping to keep the fur, it might be a little excessive (big hole in, bigger hole out).
