My survivor model came with the bull barrel. I replaced the stock and forend with the Choate Varmit stock and forend................3/4" 100 yard group.

I've got one and it shoots very well, the only drawback is it does'nt like cheap ammo, PERIOD. It likes the winchester powerpoints though, (or anything that has a real namebrand for that matter).

My past 308 bull likes the Power Points too and also the Federal Match ammo..along with the 180gr Norma Oryx..even though it has a looooooong throat..it still shoots  1/2" groups with those factory brands..

The .308 bull barrel works great on the survivors I have.  Does not like mil surplus ammo. Sticks on eject.  Not hard, can be ejected with a cleaning rod but its a pain.

Mine will shoot 1 inch groups at 100yards.  Refused to eject a few rounds when new but polishing chamber cured that.  I do not reload very hot only around 2800fps and there it is pleasent to shoot and the gun took two deer this past season.

poncaguy-
Any other work other than Choate stock changes on your sub-moa Survivor?

Nothing at all, think the Choate forend is the big reason......I have 2 Fluted Varmit Handis and a 45-70 as well as the 308, and they all shoot under an inch. Made the 45-70 comfortable to shoot, even from the bench.

I have a 308 bull that has been restocked with a synthetic stock. When I first got it I had a few problems with stuck cases and popping open when fired. After applying the fixes recomended on this sight, it now preforms very well. The only problrm is that it only likes Hornady Custom 150 gr. Amo. It shoots at just under 1 inch at 100. I have it topped with a older VXII and love it for long slow walks in the back forty.
