10/22 project new receiver?
« on: February 02, 2006, 02:17:29 PM »
I'm thinking about buiding a target-plinker 10/22 with a bull barrell and aftermarket stock.  I have a receiver that has many thousand roundsthrough it.(it's been on a folding stock and shot a lot of 25 round mags)  The rifle still shoots great, but would I need a new one or would the new barell and stiff stock take care of the accuracy end?

On the 10/22 it's all in the bbl.  The reciever just holds it all together.    seriously thouhg.  You'll be fine with that one you've got.  get the bbl and bed the whole thing nicely in a good comfortable stock.  Send the trigger assembly to TT Shooter (www.ttshooter.com) and you'll be a happy camper.

Check around on www.rimfirecentral.com for some inspiration.

Oh also, just a heads up...Boyd's has a stcok/bbl combo that's a great deal.

Thanks for the tips! I was looking at Boyd's today.  Gotta love the 10/22!
