Hey guys. just bought a dpms bull with a 16' barrell. It has a 1 in 9 twist but it doesn't seem to like 62gr ammo. at 100 yards it's all over a 2 in group. What it does like is wwb 45gr hollow points. I can hit the head of a roofing nail 8 out of 10 shots.
My question to any one with a similar rifle is what ammo do you shoot and what kind of accuracy do you get? I'm still in the testing phase of this rifle and so far it is showing the signs of a tack driver.
Would like to use heavier ammo though. Any ideas would be great.

If you're talking about 62 grain ball ammo of some type, 2 inch
groups aren't all that bad.
If you don't reload, you might try to find some commercial reloads
using the 52 or 53 grain match bullets, and see how they do.
Using commercial reloads like that, I've had groups under 1 inch
at 100 yards. As always, trying different bullet weights, and / or
different ,makes of ammo will yield varying results accuracy wise.
