I went to my local wal-mart to day to special order a H&R bc and the sales men said that the 1871 bc was not in his book to order.
     I'am going to try the super Wal-Mart in Plattsburg NY. after work tomorrow, but it seems strange to me that if they sell Handi's and Pardner shotguns that they can"t order the BC.

The BC is in the special order book in the H&R section, but you likely won't get one, their supplier has been out of em for a long time. :cry: Here's the page from their online special order catalog...

Thank you Quickdtoo for the info. I have been waiting quite some time to get one of these. I wonder if they can put one on back order for me. Guess I'll have to ask. :cry:

Most of the 45-70's ended up down in Mississippi last fall, they are allowing them during the Muzzleloader Season and were selling like hotcakes from what I hear. Might be a while before H&R/NEF gets caught up to the demand.

Charlie, you might check Gander Mountain if you have any in your area...IIRC, they sell em for about the same price as WM.
