Where to find real Black powder?
« on: February 02, 2006, 05:58:50 AM »
This may have been covered already, but has anyone else noticed the lack of regular ole blackpowder in stores lately?
All my local shooting supply stores seem to have quit carrying it, they have plenty Pyrodex, pellets, and triple 7, but my rifle always liked the original Goex 2f the best, plus it seems cheaper to shoot then all this new blackpowder replica crap.
Where are all you traditional guys getting powder from now a days?
Thanks, Flinch.

Real black powder is easy to get in Pennsylvania.  We have a flintlock only season.  The substitutes don't work well in a flinter so lots of gunshops carry the real stuff.

Got a shop right down the road from me that carries the real stuff.
I only use Goex 2F and 3F.

I'm a Graf & Sons fan. There is another place too www.powderinc.com but my orders usually come from Grafs.

The Powder Inc. folks are good to deal with. Locally, I can drive to Track of the Wolf too.
