Median Deer hunter's
« on: March 11, 2005, 05:50:30 PM »
I spent over 30 years driving OTR trucks and one thing that alway's got me was deer season in Pennsylvania. Every year I'd spot deer hunter's hunting in the median between the east and west bound lanes of Interstate 80. Is that really legal?? And these guy's all seem to be carrying rifle's.

I've never seen this on any other interstate or toll road in Pennsylvania.

Up here the anti's would freak out if that was happening. We're required to be outside the fences.
I personally would like to be completely out of earshot, and that means miles back in the bush, and away from the road hunters.

I drive I-80 from the Ohio border to Route 153 (west-most Clearfield exit) on my way to & from deer camp each year… and it is hard to believe that anyone would do such a thing.

Frankly, I don’t know if it is illegal or not, but it seems VERY likely to be against the law as well as against anything rational & reasonable!!!  That is pure insanity!!!

Shooting any rifle at anything in the wooded median between the east & west bound highways on I-80 would be EXTREMELY DANGEROUS to human life riding in the thousands of autos, trucks and buses that pass a given point along the highway in just a few hours on I-80.

With all the cell phones now in use, I’d think the culprit(s) would be reported to the State Police and very quickly arrested.

WOW!  The stupidity of man never ceases to amaze me!  It surely shows that “common sense” is no longer “common”, doesn’t it?
