Where is the cheapest place to buy the above and what do you all recommend for the type of pellets, both for targets and also hunting?I plan on getting a .22 air rifle, probably an rws 48.That is as soon as I can sell a shotgun I never shoot. Its just sitting in the closet. sj

i've never priced airguns online, but i buy pellets from this site:

www.dnrsports.net

i haven't found anyone who can beat their prices yet, but shipping is a dent in the wallet (no different from any other online retailer though).  if you can buy local, do so.  noone around here sells .22 hunting pellets.

and be sure to use pointed or domed pellets if you're going to hunt.  wadcutters will just mame and that ain't very nice.  pointed pellets generally penetrate better, but domed often hold tighter groups.  use whichever you know will give you a clean, quick kill.
When the whole world is crashing down around me, atleast I'll have my SKS.

www.pyramidair.com has buy 3 tins get 4th for free, crossman premiers are an all around good pellet for the money, for head shots on bigger critters, I would recomend the logun penetraters or beeman kodiac heavies.

great tip on the pellets. I have yet to order the crossman premiere. The Benjamin diabolo seem to work great. I was wonder about the heavy pellets like you mentioned. " logun penetraters or beeman kodiac heavies."

I have a RWS 54. Do you think a springer or this gun has enough power for the heavy brands or should I stick with the 14.3 grains I am using??  I would like to also try the JSB diabolo I in this guy.
