Marlin Lever Gun Hammer extensions??
« on: January 28, 2006, 02:42:49 PM »
I bought a round, knurled hammer extension from Carlson, but it won't let the hammer on my 1895 cock all the way. I'm not a big fan of the Uncle Mike style, but think it might have the same issue as the Carlson anyway.

Who made/makes the flat factory style extension like came on my 336?

Are the flat style I have on the 336 available from Marlin?

Thanks - perklo

Looks like most are round (current models)  I`ve got the "flat" one on my Marlin but it`s an old puppy. A check of the web didn`t show much although i could have missed something.
Best bet is your local Gun-Shows.   Especially the tables where guys have trays full of who knows what (parts). You never know.

I've had the Uncle Mike's on my 1895 for years and it doesn't cause any cocking problems.

Hello gunmen-I have found that if I use a 1x4 scope and the proper mounts the scope sits just in front of the hammer and requires no extension. I often wonder why folks continue to use them? If you have a compact scope and close to 4" of eye relief you need never bother with this problem on a Marlin. realidahorocks
