The democrats forget many things, but most importantly, they want to forget, forget, and keep forgetting that we have a second amendment to the constitution in this country. Can't they count past one????
Sincerely,

More than anything, the Dumbycrats depend on the publics short attention span and extremely short memory.  The media is more than willing to revise and extend their comments.

 In my opinion neither party is worth a tinker's damn.  Leaders from both parties have lied, cheated and stole form the American people.

It's a shame, we select a Miss America from 52 contestants, but have to choose a President from the better of two bums.

Man rockbilly, you are right on the money. I remember a time when I used to vote for a president, nowadays, what I do when I vote is vote against a president. None of them are worth a tinkers damn, but at least the republicans are more aware of the fact that we do have a second amendment.
Sincerely,

I have to agree with the last two posts.  Seems the last few elections we have had to cast our vote for the lesser of two evils.    I realize they are only human but jimminy you'ld think there has to be some better stock out there some where to choose from.   Guess truly honest, moral and intelligent people just don't want anything to do with politics and I guess I can't blame them.  It would be akin to being the only lamb at a wolfs convention.   :)

The problem is all of our politicians are professionals.  They grow up thinking they are going to be a politician and they start from an early age grooming the political contributors to help them.  No one else can compete.  You have to have the lobbiest and contributors in your pocket to get into office.  Look at Goorge Bush, following in Daddy's footsteps.  He knew from the time he was a little boy he was going to be a politician.  Some more?  Albert Gore Jr. (better known as Al Gore) following in his Daddy's foot steps.  Lisa Murkowski, following her Daddy's lead, she was even appointed to fill his vacant position by him when he was elected governor.  And look at Ted Stevens, his son Ben is the top State Senator in the state of Alaska.  And I can feel this in my bones.  When "Uncle Ted" retires or leaves office for some reason, Frank Murkowski will appoint Ben to fill out his Daddy's term.  And it's going on in other states too, just look around.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

The question is ,”Did president Bush lie to Congress about the WMD that were supposed to be in Iraq?”  The answer is "of course he did".  He, like every other politician, took Lying 401 in college.  They’re all pass masters at lying.  Lawdog

So when the Socialist Democraps in Congress were exposed to the same
intelligence & voted for the War, they are in on this "conspiracy"  :)  with
President Bush even though they hate him. Yea, sure they did.  :)
Of course the Democraps that voted for the War & now don't remember have to be lying because they tell 2 stories, so 1 has to be a lie. Pres. Bush has not changed his story to please the libs.
We all know that Sadam had p.gas, the gased Kurds prove this, we don't
know what Sadam did with them, some are saying they were sent to Syria, we will probably know years down the road, but I don't much care where they are unless they fall in the hands of terrorist. But, in the mind
of a Liberal, these people would not hurt us if we just understood them
so I guess I need to enroll in a understanding class. I am sure they are
going on in Kalifornia right now.  :)

Bingo

You are correct, sourdough.

Human nature craves power. Money too. That said, the repuplicrats and democins have put in place a system (money wise) whereas no other party can compete financialy. It takes money to get elected, and both parties know this. Hence the unlevel playing field for a third party.

Both partys suck in their own merits. Repubs are for the rich, for the most part. Dems are for the slackers who want handouts, for the most part.

Time for change is LONG overdue. This country needs a party that represents the middle man blue collar folks who make this country operate.

Due to power and greed of our current "represenatives", a third party will likey never see high office in these "United" states..........................

Due to power and greed of both parties, the option for a third party will never ever ever ever ever become viable.

I for sure agree with you that it would be great to have a 3rd party, but
like you said, it is very near impossible.

I can no longer even look at Socialist Democraps on TV. At the national
level they have sold out to the far left. I no longer consider them viable
& actually view them as enemies to everything I hold dear, be it 2nd amend., freedom of religion, you name it. Alot of good people vote for
them, even a few Conservatives over 55 or so who did not see the change, but that's the way it is.

I am very dissapointed at the Republicans too. The way the Immigration
problem is handled or not handled is at the top of my list. They say they
are Conservative, but not really. Much more so than the Socialist Dems.
but not nearly enough.

But like you, I just don't see a way that a 3rd party can make it.

I stopped hoping that any politcal party would comply with my way of thinking on every issue, about fifty years ago.  I actually voted for a third party candidate for President, back in "64".

It finally occurred to me that every issue has at least two sides and usually are not as cut and dried as many would like.  Even the stupid, traitorous, liberal left politicians are right occasionally.  Although it would tax me to the extreme to site an example.

My point is that you are doomed to disenchantment and disappointment if you expect to always be in agreement with a democratically elected government.  This huge nation is simply too diverse and complex for any leadership to achieve universal acceptance.  It is what it is--as bad as you think it is, it is still the best on this planet.

I agree that there are 2 sides to every issue. Idealogicaly speaking, that is a good thing to have in this country.

My biggest beef, however, is the POWER and MONEY desires that these polititions crave. Due to the fact that all these folks are not living paycheck to paycheck tells me it is more about POWER than anything else.

For example, why did Michael Bloomber spend $45,000,000 of his own money to get elected mayor of New York??

Another example is Chuck Chvala, former state senator of Wisconsin. A quick google search on this corrupt piece of ...,  will reveal his wrong and illegal actions while on the public dole.

Yeah, we have one of the better systems compared to other countries, but I would say that is more by default. I am thankfull I live here in the USA, but when I see B.S., I will call it....

Yea, you are right, POWER & MONEY. And with the power you can do the
things that normally only the super rich can do.

Look at the Clintons. Bill Clinton never had a normal job & never needed to. They don't even like the "American" way of getting ahead. In his college days Clinton was very fond of the Soviets & Hillary liked Mao's
China. They are Eliteist to be sure & the Elite in a Socialist system get
plugged into the Gov. & obtain Power & live like Kings. The only thing
missing is we are not Socialist yet, though going that way, but then again
Hillary is not done with us yet.

Good Government
« Reply #15 on: December 18, 2005, 07:49:49 AM »
Not many years ago this world had a government where everyone thought alike.
It was called the Soviet Union.  It worked rather well for awhile, and then people began to believe that maybe they should be able to disagree with one another and that it wasn't a really good idea for everyone to think alike.
If I remember my history correctly I believe it was Thomas Jefferson that said, Democracy is a very poor form of government, but compared to all the rest............
If we all agreed; how would change happen? In order to progress we need to change with time and events.  I'm old enough to look back on youth longingly.  However, when I look closely I wouldn't change.
There are many things I don't like about the present times, but there are more that I do.
Did you ever work for 35 cents an hour, with no fringe benefits, and if your bosses brother-in-law needed a job you were history?
Worked your tail off fifty hours a week and after paying the bills you didn't have enough money left to buy a 90 cent six pack of beer?
No thank you, I will take today's world- warts and all!
Best wishes in the Best of All Worlds

I'm with Rockbilly and Wink_man....neither party worth the taxes that I pay, and I find myself voting to keep the worst candidate out, instead of voting to get someone in.
I'm loyal to no party.

Yes...presumably Jefferson said that a true Democracy is one of the worst forms of government...that is why I am so pleased that our nations forefathers elected to make ours a Constitutional Republic..

Now guys...don't accuse the Libs of having  a "short memory"..that is not the problem...

The problem is that they have certain privileges that we Conservatives are not allowed access to..

Their privilege is the privilege of " selective reasoning "....or in other words,... " Liberal logic "...LOL

The problem with demos, is that they never stand up for what they really believe, just tell lies and attack whatever the repubs are doing that day. Doesn't matter what, it is just wrong. Therefore, they don't really believe what they say, and have trouble keeping their lies straight. Repubs on the other hand, are more consistent in their lies, and can keep them straight more easily.

Nobody gets the picture because there is no picture. I Haven't seen
anyone mention hating people on this Forum, neither from Democrats or
Republicans, but both sides can state that they hate policies, or even elements of a party which is fair for everyone. And people with any class will not be name calling others on this forum, I just wanted to state my feelings to all on this matter, except to the previous post, he is gone now
anyway due to name calling spoken in anger as he could not provide any
logical rebuttals.
