hello;
will a remington 700 barrel (20" 243/308 win.) fit into a rem. mod. 7 receiver? major project? is it just unscrew one and replace with barrel selected, adjusting for head-space? thanks for any input.

Working from memory(NOT a good thing!) I seem to remember that the shank length of the M7 differs from the 700. It likely could be made to work but not a simply screw in/screw out replacement.. In any case the headspace would need adjusting and that MAY require moving the shoulder back a thread as well as trimming the shank. I'll check tomorrow on the shank length to be a bit more sure..
