Encore Shooters Look for the new Encore Pro Hunter this year
« on: January 10, 2006, 09:08:09 AM »
I was going through the SCI magazine and seen the new Encore Pro Hunter. It is a new recoil absorbing machine. The stock is made with soft rubber grips and comes with a simms pad with a recoil tamer in the stock and the forearm also has rubber grip inserts. The 50 Cal, muzzle loader is going to have some changes also. The hammer is going to have a built in hammer extension which can be rotated for to the left to right or used centered. I called T/C and they would not give me any information, they said I would find out at the 2006 shot show. I think I see another Encore in my gun safe.  :D

I hope to score a T/C catalog at the Eastern Sportsman show in early February----It is the most anticipated catalog for me every year!!!!!
Last year there was a printing snafu and I couldn't get one at the show and had to wait till the end of the month and get one at my gun shop at home!!!!!!!!!!!
I have heard there is going to be a G2 Encore this year, maybe that is what you described in your post????
I will keep you updated as soon as I get the 2006 catalog!!!!!!

Thanks Encore28.  The article I have does not call it the G2 Encore, but on the side of the frame it has Pro Hunters stamped in it. It looks real cool.  :D

Hey Redhawk,
Wonder if the parts/barrels are going to be interchangeable with the standard Encore?

kgillard, I read the article again and I found one statement about it is interchangeable with the current Encore barrels. It also says you can send in your old Encore frame to have the hammer changed to the new version.  Also the breech plug is going to be like in a canon, a turn lock system. The stock has soft finger grips as well as the forearm.  :D

Cabelas is selling the barrels in their 2006 shooting catalog.  It's a 28" barrel and lists for $319.99 in stainles.

Years ago, I belonged to the Thompson Center Association. Do you think they'd let the members know of upcoming new products or changes? Answer - NO!

Meanwhile the elite of the organization, having been privileged to inside information, kept it to themselves and always seemed to get early production, collectible low serial numbered guns. When the Encore was introduced, I read about it first in a gun magazine and felt that the TCA should have informed its membership, which it didn't. I haven't belonged to the TCA since that time.
