M1-Carbine Question
« on: February 15, 2006, 10:50:05 AM »
I was looking around where to find and purchase M1-Carbines, and found this place:

http://www.fulton-armory.com/MCarbRifles.htm

I was wondering if any of you had any experience with their rifles or service?

How accurate can a carbine (like the ones shown at the website) be in good condition?  It would be mostly for shooting at the range for fun, and to plink with it.  Even in that regard, I would still like it to be an accurate rifle, not just a bullet spitter.  Would it be worth a look?  TIA.

I have an IBM in mint condition that I got from the CMP.  There are 4 other members of my club who got M1 carbines also.  We all get about the same groups.   At 100 yards your doing really good to get fist sized 4" groups.    6" groups are pretty common too.

This is not bad.  Shooting like this, you can hit a clay pidgeon laying on the 100 yard berm most of the time.  And when you miss, you are missing really close.   They are great little carbines.

I have no experience with Fulton.  But I have seen their site before and they look pretty good.

Deerhunter,

It seems you made your post the moment I clicked on the thread.  Thanks for your input.

I'm still open for more opinions and input from others, so I'll keep an eye open.
