gas checks in a can!

I got a can of .30 cal gas checks from a friend ! Yep, a can of Hornady gas checks! I haven't seen a FACTORY can of GC's since my grand pop died. When did they stop using cans?

I've been gas checking bullets for something over 30 years, not sure how much over and have never had a can of them. All I've ever bought came in a cardboard box.

You just might have a collectors item!
If it were me, I don't think I'd use them or do anything to the can!
Could be worth quite a lot of money!

What company were they made by?
Did they come in quantities of 1000?
Copper or Brass?

the can has a label on the side that says "Hornady 1000Crimpon Gas Checks Cal. 3 " ,the last # is unreadable. They appear to be brass, and there is only a couple hundred left. There is a lot of verdigree on them.
I intend to keep them as they remind me of the times I spent with my granddad casting and shooting.

I also have a can of Hornady gas checks. The label looks like they were printed on a role, with no cal. The part # 875 and cal. 7 MM were added later with a ink stamp. I've had these for 15 to 20 years. Only about  30 left.

I have two cans of gas checks, never thought it was a big deal. I'm guessing I bought them back in the early 70's.  The thing I have that I've never seen before is a box of .30 caliber Sierra gas checks that still have the price on them.......$1.75. I picked these up at a gunshow.
