Eating Bushnell crow- my apologies
« on: February 14, 2006, 08:10:49 AM »
My earlier post about getting rejected on warranty coverage with a B&L Bushnell Trophy was all wet.  The lower level person that I talked to didn't explain things the same as Diane.

First of all, if you have an older Bushnell the serial number is the only way to tell if it has warranty coverage.  (This was my main gripe, why did they tell me to send it in if it wasn't going to be covered, I wasted $17 in shipping)  The same model scope may have a 10 year warranty, a 25 year warranty, or a lifetime warranty DEPENDING ON THE SERIAL NUMBER.  In addition to this the limited warranty ONLY covers defects.

Apparently with my scope, the old Redfield style mounts bent the tube and damaged the erector and/or the rings were too tight.

So, Bushnell is replacing my scope and refunding the $69 that they were charging me for a new Trophy.  The big lessons here are:
1.  No knee jerk reactions to service
2.  Call with the serial number first and insist that they look it up
3.  Use Burris Signature Zee rings even if they are more expensive up front.

Again, my apologies to Bushnell people out there.

Thanks to all would suggested to call Chris and Diane.

Great man, I'm glad they came through for you.  Chris and Dianne are great people at Bushnell.  They just need to correct the misinformation at the lower end and accept all legit claims.  Good customer service is how you stay in business, look at Leupold.  Their scopes are way overpriced in my book but people keep buying them.  They have great customer service and stand behind what they sell.  You know when you buy a leupold it is a lifetime and people don't mind paying the price for that kind of service. Let's pray that Bushnell and the Big Green will catch this.

Takes a big man to stand up and say he was wrong.

Glad your scope problem got resolved.

I sent in my less than 2 year old 1.5x4.5 Banner around the 28th of Jan. I finally got a note back from Bushnell saying my scope is waiting for a technician to look at it and the same day my Nikon came back. Sent them off the same day.
