I'm planted...

Yep, I'm totally planted. Yesterday we totally composted the garden, added dolimite, and probiotic fertilizer...tilled and very rich looking soil now. Today I totally planted the garden with started plants and seed. ALSO, did the flower beds and large pots around the house. I'm a couple of weeks ahead of schedule, but I have a busy agenda coming up this May so we're ahead of the curve. Hopefully frost are done   .  Cheers and bottoms up to all cropsmen.

Me too. We were to have rain starting Friday and it still hasn't completely finished I don't think. It rained more last night. So I beat feet to get the stuff in the ground ahead of it. I added composted cow manure after tilling and then tilled again.

I've planted onions, tomatoes of several varieties, bell pepper, sweet banana pepper, watermelons, cantaloupes and cucumbers (the latter very much against Faye's wishes as she know I like home made pickles and she hates making them).

The flower gardens are never done around here. There are just too many covering too large an area. That's a year round job. I've added a new 12'x12' raised bed for Faye's iris this year. We've also reclaimed an area about 30' to 50' wide by 200'+ long at a side yard which will be gardened in flowers, shrubs, bushes and trees of our choice. It's been a rough area with deep washed out area in it. I've used the John Deere to dump many many many bucket loads of dirt there and smoothed and contoured it to match the side yard. Now we have to get it grassed and decide what the planting scheme will be.

I've already lined the property line over there with Leyland cypress trees for privacy and we have an assortment of flowering shrubs and trees in place already. Just gotta decide what else to add. I'm making a large flat area under some oaks for shade that will likely end up with a concrete picnic table and maybe some benches well back from the house.

I wish I could say that.  There was a Frost warning for last night.  Whether or not anyone had frost around here is anybody's guess, but the point is it's still too early around here.

Frrrost? Whatzat?

I'm sitting here at 9:30 PM writing this with the windows open and am thinking I should have the AC on instead. It's mid 60s out now. Many of our flowers are already bloomed out for the season and many more are in bloom now.
