TC Case Sizing??
« on: February 23, 2006, 01:00:55 AM »
Been a bolt action shooter for half my life and have always neck sized my brass.  Recently I've purchased an older TC in 223, carbine and 21" barrel.  Question: Any problem with just neck sizing only with the TC action?   Pro and con comments appreciated.  DG

We use a .223 in an Encore and I see no reason to do full-length sizing unless you want to. Neck sizing only is a common practive among TC users. The important thing is that the finished rounds chamber correctly, and if you're only loading for the one gun, then you won't likely have a problem.

Personally, I do full length sizing.

I neck size only for both my Contender and my Encore. Never had any problems once I started. My 35Rem Contender bbl was prone to misfires but all that went away with neck sized only brass. I have a set of Lee Collet dies for evey caliber I own. I think they're great
