Sell .223 Barrel
« on: February 19, 2006, 11:00:59 AM »
Don't quite know how to explain this so I'll just lay it out plain. I got caught up in the enthusiasm to get a Handi Rifle but couldn't get the calibers I really wanted, so I ordered a Synthetic .223 through WalMart. Nice gun but I haven't even opened the box yet. I really don't need it. I wanted a .45-70 (Out of stock) or a 7.62X39 (Not on WalMarts Buy list). I probably can't get all my money back if I sell it. So what if I just sell the barrel and then send in my receiver to get the calibers I really wanted? How much is my barrel worth to someone? Advice welcomed.

Walmart offers 2 .223 Synthetics, a standard barrel and a superlight, which do you have?

Walmart has 2 catalogs, the Special Order catalog and another that has regular stocked items, the SB2-762 should be available from the regular stocked firearms catalog.

It is the Synthetic. My WalMart doesn't stock any Handis; do you happen to know their catalog number for the 7.62?

Barrel contour is needed.

I don't know the item number and UPC, I'm hoping that Bluebayou will check in, we're waiting for the 17hmr and 17M2 stock numbers too, maybe another pm is needed.

I will have to call Sports South Monday to get the item numbers.  Couldn't find them online or in the paper catalog.  Will let you know.

Sell the barrel on eBay.  You'd be surprised to see how much they will actually go for over there!  Advertise it as a "new, unfired barrel", and I would just about bet you'd get close to $100 out of it (if not more).
