Need expert advise!!
« on: February 21, 2006, 10:11:08 AM »
Ok folks I need some of your expert advise.

I am getting ready to purchase a new UTV.  I have been looking at Yamaha's Rinho and the new one that Artic Cat has out. I also have looked at the Polaris as well. I just can't make up my mind which would work best for me.  The Artic Cat has a three year warranty the Rinho is only six months. Heck I am unsure if a UTV is what I need or if a ATV will do.

I live in northern Maine with hundreds of miles of trails.  We already have three ATV's all Yamaha's. They are 2003's and have never let us down.  The only down side is their ride is rough and it's hard for me and the wife to go all day on them without our back suffering.  We put about 5000 + miles a year on them.  Mostly trail riding on nice groomed trails (read getting to old for mudding).  We do use them some, for around the farm and a month every year for hunting at camp.  When they are used for hunting we get into some mud and rough trails. But mainly they just get used for trail ridding.  I thought maybe the UTV would be better as the wife would be beside me and the ride would be a little more comfortable. I also thought the UTV would be better for hunting and around the farm. I know I don't want one with a lawn mower engine in it, like the MAX or the Cub Cadet. We like to run the trails about 20 - 30 miles an hour.

So what do you all think I would like to hear all your opinions as I am not that up on ATV's.   :D
