I am one of those guys that is brand specific. I have never had a problem with Remington bullets and I have thousands of them ready to be reloaded in the next room. I also have thousands of Noslers and Sierras. As in a couple of prior posts, is there such thing as deader?
Between these three companies, if one doesn't make it, the other does. If I want a lot for a little less $, I can find that too. For the -06 I can go with:
110 Sierra HP. very explosive on varmints.
125 Nosler Ballistic Tip. Fast and holds together fairly well.
150 Remington Core Lokt deer/antelope
165 Nosler Partitions. Big game hunting
165 Nosler Ballistic Tip Deer size game/long distance
165 Remington Core Lokt All around bullet. (good accuracy out to 300)
These companies make some great 180s also. With the -06, I did not go that high due to recoil. Not a big deal deer hunting, but go shoot 100 rounds at squirrels or other vermin in one day. Ouch. When I want heavier bullets, I have other options in 7mm mag and 338. If you don't, check out the Noslers. Try the Nosler store for seconds. They are cheaper, just as accurate, and if you get more for your $, you can shoot more.
Good Luck,
Steve
