what tricks do you do?what have you heard of are seen that would help other folks that are experienced, novice and beginers.

for example:::::I normally take a pair of garden shears with me, a quality type that has a leather sheath that I can put on my belt.when I call I like to try and be comfortable.so when I set down I trim branchs and stuff around me so as to see better are use them to make openings in bushs ect so I can get back into them to help hide me.I don't always need them But they are very usefull and make little noise when using them.and I can lay the trimmings around me to help hide and mask me.

Nothing holds true in this sport.....Like Jim Dougherty once said, "always expect the unexpected, because that's usually what happens".

I can say that most times a coyote well head downwind " but not always". It would probably be wise to pay more attention to the cross and downwind side of your stand then not.

Don't worry about being all camoed out as much as movement, that well give you away alot faster.

Always take advantage of the sun, keep it at your back. :wink:

I go to the travel section of drug stores,where they have the mini shave cream, soaps and stuff for travel kits.And I buy the small powder bottles.I wrap them in camo tape and keep one in my pocket,soon as I find a place to hide the vechicle and get out, I use it to see which direction the wind is moving.even when I get ready to sit down and call I give it a puff.The top pulls off and I use a big bottle to refill it.I try and get the powder that is not real smelly..

Kyote, one better then that. Use coyote and rabbit urine mixed 50-50 and spray that into the air.
You well not only know what way the wind is going the coyote well smell it when it gets down wind.
When the coyote smells another coyote beating it to the rabbit, it just may come jump in your lap. It's an old trick the competition hunters used.

yuck,onecoyote..I have tried all that.I will stick with my powder.last time I tried that stuff(urine)you know that ole sayin "don't piss in to the wind"had ta use all me water ta wash off.still smell it..and ta tell ya when it is warm and I am collecting them to bring some where..they make me gag...hurl chunks,,spew burritos...filthy things..down my way they are loooooooaded with fleas...I have to put them in a big body bag and flit some insect killer in the bag and seal it..oh yea..make sure they are really dead when ya put em in bags...he he he

WELL RIGHT NOW MY SON AND I ARE PLANNING ON HEADING OUT AFTER I GET OFF WORK IN THE A.M.THINK WE WILL HEAD UP 7 AND OVER TO THE TULY GATE AND ON UP TO CARRIZOZO..MAKING CALLS ALONG THE WAY..I BELIEVE WE WILL HEAD UP TO CLOUDCROFT TO A FRIENDS CABIN FOR DINNER THEN BACK TO THE HOME THAT EVENING.BE A LONG DAY I RECKON..
