Biodegradable Skeet
« on: March 15, 2003, 06:06:46 PM »
Don't know if this is the proper forum, but appeared to be the best I could find.

Years ago I bought some biodegradable skeet at Wal-Mart.  Have not seen them since.  Did some searching today and see White Flyer is now making some, but I have not seen them in any stores.  Does anyone have any experience with them.  I would like to find some again since the standard clay ones sure make a mess in the field.

I have a private skeet field and shoot nothing but bios. They work just like the regular targets, except they smoke white instead of black. The new version is painted orange on the bottom and shows up very well, a big improvement I think. They break down after a while in the rain and wash away. I highly recomend them.

shotgunner,
Care to share the product name and where you purchase?

I shoot White flyer targets. All of the targets shot in this part of the country, PA and the North East come from a factory in Shamoken Dam PA. Most clubs have a connection and buy in bulk, price is around $6 a case. I buy from a local shop that specializes in shotgun reloading supplies and ammo. Shipping is the reason prices are high, if your dealer is willing to buy enough they can get what they want, bios are now the same price as standard targets. I think in a few years there will be nothing but biodegradable targets available. Good luck finding a source, a gun club or state skeet or trap association should be able to help. Shotgunner.
