Maines said, "I feel the president is ignoring the opinion of many in the U.S. and alienating the rest of the world.

Apparently this bimboid doesn't understand the meaning of the word "many". She shouldn't try using big words she doesn't understand.

You have access to two of the world's greatest weapons to combat these people.  Email, which, today, is mightier than the sword and witholding your dollar.

Apology, hell.  She meant what she said, now let her pay the price.  Call the radio stations, ask for the manager.  Call the radio advertisers, again, ask for the owner or manager.  You know what to tell them.

We are going to have to get on the same page if we hope to do any good.  These entertainment types understand the bottom line.  They may apologize but they won't mean it.  Ruin them.  You have the means, do you have the will?....or are you content to merely complain to the rest of us?  Encourage others to do the same...just like I am now doing.  Saddle up, boys!

I called the 3 country stations in my town today and told them if they continued to play their music, I would boycott the station and sponsors. I don't think I am alone because I haven't heard one of their songs all day.

Jack what Nathalie Maines said was....

Quote
"Just so you know, we're ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas."

I can accept the quote that you posted.  She is right in that statement.  Because I believe that is what is happening.  I don't care what the rest of the world thinks, they are not  sitting in the bullseye, we are.

But I can assure you I not ashamed of my President, I am very proud of him for standing the moral high ground.

In the quote I posted I take issue with the fact that she used the word "many" which I feel was meant to imply the the majority of Americans disagree with the President which is simply not correct.

While it may be that the word was used correctly, I don't for a minute believe that she was simply trying to say "More than one person disagrees with the President."

I still say she should try to survive in Iraq, Afghanistan or some other horrible country for a year.
I bet that would change her tune.

I think both country stations here in Houston have stopped playing them, I know KILT did for sure.

Bye Doggies!!  G.W. is welcome to move to Kentucky.  The Pixie Dicks are welcome to move to Iraq.
I've E-mailed and called the local radio stations.  I didn't think to call the advertisers. Thanks 107

I'm glad this war will show who is with us and who is not.  They need to be exposed for what they are:

American haters
or
as Lennin put it 'useful idiots'

The Dixie Chicks fall into the latter.  They can shove their managers apology.  They also did  'I'd rather be naked than wear fur" ad for PETA, but their manager axed that too.

I just wished we could revoke the word Dixie form their name.  Nobody with half a brain from DIXIE would ever make such stupid comments.  let them move out to Kalifornia with Jane and the rest of the fruits and nuts.  I hope people will always remember what was said and coninue to boycott their music from now until the end of time.  The only reason the apology was given was the loss of dollars.  Please call or email your favorite radio station and tell them not to play their crap.

She can issue apology after apology but I am NEVER going to listen again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Goodbye Chicks :D

If you want to spend money on country music support Toby Keith and the rest of the Patriotic entertainers.

apology, my can!
« Reply #15 on: March 21, 2003, 10:09:41 AM »
that apology comes from the deep down bottom of their pockets and the pockets of their producers, management, and anyone else who reaps the benefits of their record sales.  people say what they mean and mean what they say even if sometimes they regret it (financially) later. forget them.

I once went to a tavern with a live band in it...it was behind chicken wire in case the crowd started throwing stuff.  The "Chicks"better take Dixie off their name, and get themselves some chicken wire.  My Grandpa always said that money will never buy common sense or brains... :?
