Houston area hog hunt information please

Hey guys,

My brother and I are coming into Houston in early April for a wedding and were looking for a close by hog hunt. Any suggestions on outfitters in that area?

Thanks!

Love to hear about this area for hogs also.  I come to Houston on business every now and then and have always wanted to try hog hunting with one of my handguns.  I have taken numerous deer with various handguns, but no other big game.  Post here or PM would be great.
Be honest with yourself.  Can you guarantee you would hit a paper plate at 250 yards...100 yards...50 yards?  Then you have no business replacing the plate with a live animal.

Hey Scott,

I thought I replied already but it looks like it never sent. My Brother and I are coming in for a wedding on Saturday the 8th so we could come a couple days earlier or stay later. Neither of us are fit for a major stalk and shoot or running dogs, so either stand hunting over bait stations or low level activity stalking (my favorite) would be the ticket. I hunt hogs here in FL but Tommy has never shot one. Meat could be an issue, I would think we can get it processed and have my godson pick it up so chops and sausage would be fine. Trophy boar would be fine, a mix with an opportunity for one but chances at meat hogs would be best I think. Are there Javelina's aroung as well and are they targeted the same way?

Thanks

John

John,

Sorry for the late reply. I've been away from the computer for a few days. We probably ought to take this either to PM or to email, as I'd need a few more details as to your schedule, etc. Please feel free to email me at scott.davidson@mustangeng.com or send me a PM from here.

Thanks,
Scott
