So, I am getting ready for my first hog hunt this fall. I have a buddy that is going to go with me. He has gone on (and gotten) many hogs. I was telling him that I was going to use the federal 300 gr Hard Cast bullets in 44 mag with my 8" DW. He said to use 240 gr as that way you don't have to resight each time. When I asked if they had enough stuff to go through the shoulder he said he doesn't aim there. He always aims just behind the shoulder. His reason was so that he doesn't ruin a good shoulder ham.
So this brings me to my question. Assuming I hit where I am aiming, where do I am. I don't think a head shot at that size brain is going to do it.
