Garand Sight Problem
« on: February 19, 2006, 06:34:54 AM »
Put a NM rear sight on my Garand.  Problem is that the elevation "walks" with recoil.  Tightened the screws on each side, dial in elevation again and it holds for a while, then starts moving up again.  Check the screws and they are loose again.  Suggestions?

Pretty much came to the same conclusion,  Am trying teflon tape first and fall back will be lock-tite.  Can't get to the range for two more weeks to test drive the tape.  Thanks

Can you look at the groves on the rifle and see if they are worn bad.
Also lood at the groves on both of the site mounting surfaces.

I had to go to a lock bar to stop this nonsence. Jim
