Can you 'shoot off' handcuffs like in the m
« Reply #30 on: January 11, 2006, 03:32:27 PM »
This dose not involve the same type of chain but I once shot a tree stand out of a tree with one round of 7.62x39. The stand was chained and locked to the tree to prevent theft. The chain was much larger than that on a set of cuffs but it was not hardened. The bullet was the cheap steel core stuff you once could buy by the case for $15.00.

Some one had placed the stand on my land without my knowledge. I was not about to cut one of my nice oaks to remove it so I thought it was worth a try. I had to pry the chain from deep within the bark of the tree. I think some rounds may be able to break the chain but it may rip off a hand in the process.
keep your powder dry !!!

Me and a guy that use to be a cop try this. a tree had hand cuffs on it and a 44 was use and a 38. If you shot them with a 44 they could blow up and you would be dead or not walking no more. Don't shoot them!

Master Lock vs .45 ACP

Tree stand chained to tree, Master lock rusted shut.  Key wouldn't turn.  Climb nearby tree.  Steady aim.  7 rounds of hardball from 5-6 feet.  Big dents in body of lock... stand still on tree...  Beat H### out of lock with hand sledge until it finally broke open.  Must have it is 25 times...  Moral... use bigger gun or bigger hammer....

So here's where I get made out to be an idiot....  Me and the buddies were out shooting, and I decided I needed to shotgun a beer, so I opened the top and shot a hole through it (while holding it) then chugged it.  This was with a .22mag pistol.  Don't think I would try anything much bigger that close.  Now that I think about it, I am an idiot.  No pain, no blast though...  Just cold beer.

CUFF SHOOTING

Well if you were able to do it, I would as others have said think it would hurt like hell, not to mention the other problems created-- You would have better luck if you are cuffed to another person to straddle a track, and wait for a train to come by. :-D   :-D   :-D   :-D   :-D
