Finally go to use my 357 Sig barrel!!!
« on: March 23, 2006, 01:08:35 PM »
I finally got to use my 357 Sig barrel in my G22. It's AWESOME! I went out today and shot some of Mike's 125 gr. FMJ ammo. I couldn't believe how much milder it seemed then the 40 S&W. Recoil seemed to be about the same. The muzzle flip was nowhere near the 40 S&W. It almost seemed that when I fired a round, it was so quick to cycle the slide that as it was recoiling (coming back), the slide going forward (chambering the next round) brought it back on target. I really couldn't believe how quick I was back on target.

I've never had a problem shooting my 40's (G22, G27 or my Ruger KP94DC that I sold) one handed using my right hand (I'm right handed). I couldn't really shoot them to quick (to much muzzle flip for me), but I could shoot them accurately. I could never shoot them quickly or accurately using my left hand at all. I can shoot the 357 Sig with my right hand faster then I ever thought possible, and hit what I'm aiming at! I wasn't to bad with my left hand either!

I'm not knocking the 40 S&W at all. I know that terminally speaking a person or anything else for that matter would never be able to tell the difference if hit by either. I also know that there are a lot of people out there that choose a 9mm over other rounds because they shoot them better. I think this is going to be the case with me and the Sig round! Now I have to get a G33 barrel for my G27!

Cool.
I'm looking at a G-35 specificly as a 357sig gun.
Ammo looks more available than it used to be.

You guys are making me green with envy, Guess I'll have to get me a Sig barrel for my G22. All the reports i have heard are positive as far as the accuracy goes. Where did you get yours from. We don't have a gun shop here where i live so i would have to order it. :D .........Joe..........

oso45-70, I ordered mine from Glockmeister, it was $120. You might want to call Glock (1-770-432-1202) to see if your G22 can use a 357 Sig (G31) barrel. I think your pistol has to be a  III generation pistol to handle the Sig barrel. Here are a few more sites Glockparts and Lone Wolf. Good luck and let us know how you make out. NYH! :D

My 357 Sig barrel is a Bar-Sto. Got it from Midway. I had to fit it by fileing a little off here and there until it fit flawlessly. It shoots very accurately.

I had to give up my Glock 32 a couple years ago when the outfit changed to issued Glock 22s.  The .357 SIG is a great round. It kicked a lot in the mid size gun, but let me tell you what. I shot at least a dozen of full grown nutria with it using SPEER Gold Dot 125 gr +P ammo.........and the results were spectacular.

I just killed a wild boar with the Glock 27 using Winchester 165 grain ammo, and the results were down right impressive........piggie got blown off his feet and down an embankment with 1 shot at 20 yards high in the shoulder. After butchering him myself, I am impressed with what occurred......even though he wasn't very big.

I'd carry the .357 SIG if I could.......I like it that much.
