Rebarreling a #1 question

Wondering how hard it is to rebarrel a #1. Thinking of a 357 max. but hate to spend the money for one of the CHP rifles when I can just rebarrel a gun that is quite a bit cheaper. Any info would help( thread pitch and shank dia. ect. ) Thanks
