There are several threads on painting the Handi, same would apply to the Sportster... Krylon Fusion paint is said to work very well....Stimplylu32 has some "knock your eyes out" painted stocks!!

The yellow and the camo are both done on syn. stocks and the orange is done on wood , the syn. i used Krylon Fusion in a spray can .

I second Stimpylu..I did my 880SQ first in Krylon Fusion...orange, didn't care for the outcome..
Then I bought three of the Krylon Camoflage colors from Walmart...the orange Fusion had already given me a base.
First, I painted the whole stock with the lightest shade ..then the second lightest, followed by the darkest shade.
   I'm happy with it !
  Caution!...start with Krylon....stay with Krylon !

The thinner Krylon uses will "crinkle" many other paints..

    Just my .02

Ironglow,
Not being to bright i have to ask this question. Do you completly paint the stock with all three colors? If so how do you get the camo effect?
         Thanks for your help,

Just checking on your paint job , and no you don't paint the whole thing in all the colors .

First you paint the whole rifle with the lightest color , then you paint what ever pattern you are using with the next darker color .

If you are using a templet for your pattern move it around and paint the last color . Its that simple .

Let us know how it turns out .  :D
