50-70 on falling plates
« on: April 29, 2006, 03:36:36 PM »
Hello, I just got done earlier with my bi-monthly falling plates competion.  After everyone got done shooting, I got out my new 6 1/2" 50-70 govt. barreled contender.  The loads I had were 500 grainers @ 800fps., not hot, but interesting out of this iron sighted pistol with the small, early wood grips.  This was a big hit with all of the guys at the shoot, and really seems to slap down the larger "popper" targets!  I hope to use this barrel on Russian boar this fall.  Keep you posted.  Thanks.
