shooting rifled slugs through a rifled shotgun barrel
« on: March 25, 2003, 03:53:01 PM »
can rifled slugs be shot through a rifled shotgun barrel, or do they have to be fired through a smoothbore shotgun barrel?

Rifled Slugs in a Rifled Barrel

No problem shooting them in a rifled barrel.  The rifled slug is soft lead so it can accomodate various chokes, and the rifled barrel has no choke at all.  You might get some leading, and I haven't found that firing rifled slugs in a fully rifled barrel gives me stirling accuracy.
