hi ya'll, i'm new on the forum and new to ml. my 11yo daughter (deadly with .22 bolt and 30-30 lever) thinks she needs a ml for next deer season. she weighs about 85lbs and 4'10".

so, the Q is, who makes a good 50cal in a youth size ? a friend has a T/C treehawk she shoots well but it is no longer made, and she likes CVA Wolf but the stock is to long. any info or suggestions would be apreciated, along with suggested loadings. Thanks in advance, JR

:D jrnsuz, Welcome to the forums Graybeards is a great place to hang out and share knowledge with other fellow outdoorsman and wowen.
I've never owned a Rossi before but I hear they make pretty good rifles.
Here are a few to look at, just a starting point. I do like Knight rifles they are the only brand of muzzle loader I use.

how about looking into a T/C encore. you can get a custom stock and when she is older you will just ahve to put the factory stock back on. she would also be able to get a 20 or 12 ga barrels both slug and smooth bore along with 1000's of cinterfre rounds for almost any thing that walks.
this gun will grow as she does

You might look at the NEF huntsman as they have stocks that are youth size and the rest of the rifle is adjustable by what you put on it. It will cost a lot less than the Encore.

My daughter shoots my stainless/synthetic .50 cal NEF Huntsman and has since she was 13 with the standard adult stock but it has a 14.25" LOP. I have used it for Whitetails and Elk and haven't had one complain yet. I should also say this is not the only muzzleloader I own, just the least expensive, least fussy, very accurate and my favorite. It uses a plastic primer carrier that is very practical for hunting (I have over 60 shots on one of the carriers but they say at least 20 shots a piece), I have a aftermarket .25 ACP breech plug conversion for mine too. I also own 3 Whites, 2 Knights and a T/C.

You can get either of these in my area for $150-$160 in blued, $210-$220 in stainless. Made in USA!

You can get a youth stock reasonably and have the longer stock for later.

If you want to scope it get the H&R/NEF rail. Both stock and scope rail can be purchased here. Just get the youth stock # from the retail parts list above.
