You must mean the old Topper 158, don't know about it.

Mine has a slightly thinner barrel lug than the handi has, it will fit my  frame, but the handi barrel will not go in the topper frame.  Larry

Ditto what trotterlg says.

That was my experience with an older model Topper with 30/30, and 20 ga barrels. The barrels wouldn't fit (without considerable modification) any of my modern frames, and it would not accept any of my modern barrels because the barrel lugs (modern) were too thick for the frame.

On the other hand (reversing the process) I now have another Topper 158 frame (according to the FAQs it is a 1969) that perfectly fits and shoots with a modern 357 mag barrel!

The first (30/30) frame wouldn't accept any modern barrels, because the barrel lug was, as trotterlg says, kind of narrow, yet the Topper frame I have now accepts several modern barrels... but I am not going to shoot it with anything but the 357 barrel!

Bottom line, it can be a "luck-of-the-draw" thing, as we all know whether any given barrel will fit a given frame...

You can see pics of it in the old classifieds http://www.graybeardoutdoors.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=86501

And here's one of the receiver and barrel.

Cheers

The .223 accessory barrel from my 30-06 Handi will fit my old (early 70s) 12ga topper frame.  Have never tried the topper barrel on the Handi frame.

A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I have an older model H&R Muzzle loader. Would the Topper 158 barrels fit that frame?

That could be unsafe even if it fits, dunno what kind of frame strength the older muzzleloaders had and I doubt NEF/H&R would know, either.

They may fit, but the older muzzel loaders have a fat, flat fireing pin to set off a cap on the nipple, and probably would not fire a CF cartridge.  They also do not require a FFL to transfer the frame as they are considered a muzzel loader rifle.  Larry
