Hey guys, I just picked up a second contender frame and have a question for you multiple frame owners.  Are the differences in barrel/frame relationship big enough to affect things like point of impact, pressures in handloads, etc..... and if so how do you handle this?  Do you dedicate one frame for certain barrels only or do you switch and swap with abandon?  Both of my frames are older non easy open varieties.

I think the first thing I will compare is barrel to frame gap to make sure there will be no headspace issues.  Other than that, I can't think of anything to do but shoot and see.

I now have 6 Encore frames and 6 Encore barrels. I quit swapping barrels long ago. I never noticed one barrel shooting any differently in different frames, I just like the idea of guns customized to it own barrel. I have different stocks for different uses. I really think it is just an Encore thing.  :D

I have 3 frames (no G2) & 6 barrels. The 45/410 barrel is the only one that stays on a frame all the time. The others are switched back & forth as hunting seasons change.
Never had any accuracy issues from frame to frame swapping.

On the bottle-necked case barrels (30 Herrett, 30-30) it does make a difference if you size your cases to just fit.

I have 4 frames: 2 G2's and 2 Encore's.  Never really noticed any appreciable changes in accuracy.  Right now I'm only shooting store bought stuff - maybe once I get into handloading things will change.  Once deer season arrives I do keep my 7-30 Waters barrel on the same frame until the end of the season.  That's mostly because I don't want to monkey with it; plus it's always ready to go at a moments notice.   :-)

I currently have 3 "Easy Open" Contender frames 1 G2 frame and 4 Encore frames.  With 21 barrels for the Contender and 6 barrels for the Encore.  No problems switching barrels here.
