Hey guys need some advice here. I am looking at a 1980 ruger model 77 in 338. It is in a walnut stock and it has a 4x leupold m8 on it. It is in excellent condition. How much is a fair price for this rig and would it be better to buy a new one with the controlled feed action. Also what is the going rate for a m77 338 in stainless and laminated stock.

I wasn't aware of ruger ever putting out a M77 that wasn';t controlled round feed. But you can pick up a M77 standard for 475-500 and the sporters go 500-550 These are new prices.

I have a M77 in 338 that is probably that old and I bought it because its the same action as a pre-64 model 70 Winchester. I can not relate to prices, but I paid $400+ back then new. Great gun, great caliber

only thing about rugers in high recoil calibers is...... they hurt,

I usually LOVE to shoot the all-weather ruger mk-ii in 7mm mag, I tried to shoot the .338, it wasn't comfortable.

The highest ruger all-weather I wanna get would probebly be 7mm mag, Im thinking of buying one as of now, about $480, and sucker is a hell of a shooter
