You would do well for yourself to use the search function, there are lots of posts on the Choate stock.

because its lighter, a 20 barrel would kick more right? But then you have several spacers to work with that. Hmm, We'll see.

I just picked up an Ultra Varmint with the Choate stock and took it out yesterday.  I have to say I love the stock and forend.  The only grip I have with it is the check rest which will be remedied with one of their rest and my Harris bi-pod moves on the rail so I will be making a couple spacers.

I say go for it.

The Choate forend is likely part of how my Survivor .308 is capable of SubMOA performance.

My cheekweld is not great as I need to build up the stock (I'm using high rings), and the Choate cheek piece (Choate part 22-04-03) does not attach to the standard Survivor stock.  I could drill a hole in the one I have, which I am contemplating; as per a suggestion by the friendly and informative people at Choate.

Has anyone purchased the Cheekpiece?  Did you get the high or regular one?

Tomorrow I'll call Choate and see if the width of the standard and the Varmint stocks are the same.  The difference between the stock forend and the Varmint forend is huge.
