ADL Mountain Rifle ?
« on: March 20, 2006, 03:21:45 AM »
I recently purchased a used Remington 700 ADL Stainless/Synthetic Mountain rifle in 30/06.   I believe the rifle was made in 1998 but I don't remember seeing it in their catalog.  Did Remington make many of this type Mountain rifle?  Any information on this rifle will be very helpful.

Thanks,

I don't think ADL and Mountain Rifle computes.  A call to Remington would provide an answer.

Yup Remington did in fact make them and I think even cataloged them for about two years. I was kinda thinking it prior to '98 tho. I've owned two of them. One was a .300 Win. Mag and that was a bear on recoil, didn't last thru two boxes of ammo and that one was traded off at a gunshow for another just like it but in .270 Win.

My oldest son now has it. He borrowed it every dang hunting season anyway and didn't bring it back until season was over for me to clean up and put away until next season. So a few years back I just gave the darn thing to him for Christmas so I don't have to clean it up and store it for him now.

Sure seems to me I got both of them prior to '98 tho. I'm not sure that Remington actually called them an ADL Mtn. Rifle but that is what they are none the less. Got some real quality plastic stocks on them too.

Thanks for the replys.  I haven't seen many of these rifles but when I found one in 30 06, I had to have it.  I have been very pleased with it so far and look forward to hunting with it for many years.
