Picked up a used Ultra in .308 today. It has blonde laminated wood and the metal finish seems a bit more black than most I've seen. The serial number begins with HK

This is only the second Ultra I've seen with the blonde wood. The first one was a .223 which I bought, but swapped the wood with mt3030. I decided if I ever saw another, I would try to get it.

This is also my first .308, ever.

HK would indicate a 1996 date of manufacture....<><.... :grin:

I picked up some Remington 150's. Hopefully, I'll get a chance this weekend to see what it will do.

If the Ultra will perform for you, you will like the 308 Winchester. I love it in my Browning BLR and bolt actions. I hope you have a shooter.
