New guy
« on: March 15, 2006, 05:52:35 PM »
Hi folks, :D
Just found the forum.  I've had my 1895G for quite a while now, but I've been so darn busy starting a new company I've never shot it!
I bought it with the intent of sending it to Jim West, but now I have the time and I might do some of the work myself.
I'm thinking of big loop and maybe different sights(the eyes are getting bad).
Any suggestions out there?  Anybody know where I can find good smithing instructions or info for improvements?
I have a dozen different loads I've been saving to use.  I can't wait to get started!
Thanks.

Welcome to GBO and the Marlin lever action Show. You made a good choice with the purchase of the 95 Guide gun. As for the Smith goes i don't know who to recomend. There was a guy who was making the big loop levers for the Guide gons but i don't see his posts any more on the classified section and i messed around and did not order two. I have two 95s one stainless and a blue one. You might watch the classified section here on GBO just in case he has made some more. You can get them from Brownells but they cast an arm and a leg. As far as the sights go, I have a hard time seeing any thing without some help myself as the old eyes are not what they used to be. I have a small scope on the blue guide gun and a peep set up on the SS gun. I am very pleased with both of my Guide guns, both work flawless and are a blast to shoot. I am sure you will do just fine with your project. Good luck Sir :D ........Joe..........

Any law that makes self-defense illegal or impractical is an illegitimate law, and should not be obeyed, because such a law ultimately subjects people to the criminal element.
