Got a call from Wal-Mart that my new 223 Survivor was in, told the guy I would be right in and he said take your time. Right, new gun's in and I'm going to take my time. My Wal-Mart even has a old timer in sporting goods that knows guns. When I got there he got my Survivor out of the box and he fell in love with it. This was the first Survivor he had sold and he wants one, but he ain't getting mine. When I got home and checked out the gun I was surprised it has one of the best factory triggers I've had in a long time. No creep and broke clean about 3 1/2 pounds, about perfect for coyote hunting. The guns about a pound heavier then the advertised 6 pounds which seemed low for a 22" bull barrel. When I ordered the gun I had intended to chop the barrel but I think I'll wait and see if It's a shooter. If it is I'll send it in and get a lighter weight barrel to chop for brush hunting. This is my first Handi and thought I was past buying "meat guns". But who wants to take a $800 bolt gun with nice wood into heavy brush let alone camo paint it.
