Night crawler and chicken livers are tops for me.  I use live and cut bluegills with some success, but mostly for larger fish.  I have yett to find a commercial bait that is worth the $$ or the smell.   :D

worms are ok bait if the water is up but if it isnt there not worth the time here where i live when the waters up i would rather use fresh cut shad that i caught in my throw net as worms but thats just my 2 cent and if i am going for flatheads i use liver perch about 5 to 6 " long they work killer about the only time i use worms is to catch perch for bait  they fish here in northern okla would rather bite on small perch for channel cats or cut shad worms just dont work to well i dont no y but thats true o u can catch 2 to 3lbers but i am after 8 to 10lb channel not the small fish i dont use any liver, shrimp, any that boughten bait once in a great while i will use crawdads but not to often they work but not that well eather these cats are just funny ;D

here in MO we have what are called swamp worms, a little different than night crawlers, much juicer. if you have them and you aint catching nothing then there isnt anything to be ketched.i prefer to use bout a 1/4 pound of them on each hook. they rake in the blues and channel cats here.

Hey Backstrap...
Where in Oklahoma you live?
IF we're not supposed to eat animals,
how come God made 'em outta meat?
