Someone will pay it.  I know you can buy them all day for a lot less new, but go to a police gun auction sometime.  I've seen beat and battered guns go for a third over the new price.  Someone on impulse will decide they want it and nothing is going to stop them.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Are people crazy? One could go over to Walmart, buy a Weatherby Vanguard in .300 W'by mag, and have enough for a good scope for the same price....

I've watched that one for awhile. It has been re-listed on the auction at least twice that I noticed.

Last week the bid was up to $450 - and that had not yet reached the reserve price! When it expired it was relisted again, at the current $600.00 ... and so far with zero bids.

I expect he might be kicking himself because he didn't take the $450 last week. I would be it was my auction!

It reminds me of the prices I have been seeing the .35 Whelens go for in the last few years...  People have been buying them for around the same amount as a NIB 7600 or 700CDL in .35 Whelen. :-D

That same guy is trying to sell a 20ga youth model pardner for more than retail Plus shipping. There's a sucker born every minute. I wonder what it cost for him to list these guns?

i agree that this is a nice looking gun,BUT first off i dont know why someone would pay this much for a gun when there are better/nicer options for the same or less money.secondly i dont know how you guys feel but i have had three scopes made by this co. and all three have been, for lack of a better word"junk"im not trying to pi$$ anyone off this is just my opinion.i think the handi is an outstanding value, but if im spending this much for a large bore im buying a marlin guide gun,and putting better glass on it.i dont want to sound like i only go top end with my guns, optics, cause i have plenty of savage guns and tasco /bushnell scopes in my gun safe, jim
