cantilever scope mount m48

Has anyone tried a cantilever style scope mount for a mauser. Can anyone tell me pros and cons. Who makes some of these style mounts. Thanks. This surplus rifle stuff is addicting. :D

I thought about scoping my M48-A, but havnt done it yet. I found this site, but debating if I want to try this type or not. http://www.iron-elite.com/

That is exactly the impass I am at. It would almost be as cheap to buy a second rifle and drill and tap reciever. Thanks so much for your response.
